Shared Shortcuts

Shared folders hold shortcuts that anyone can access. Any shortcut saved to My Catalog can be moved to shared folder and reports in the Shared folder can be saved to My Catalog. Like report objects, shared shortcuts rely on user groups to enable and control access.

In brief, here is how to share shortcuts in the IUIE:

  1. Create a user security group, called a shared group, to control access to the folder containing the shortcuts that will be shared.
  2. Assign a user security group to the shared folder.
  3. Create the folder.
  4. Move shortcuts into the shared folder.
  5. Finally, grant access to the shared folder and its contents by adding the users to the shared group created at the beginning of the process.

Spend some time planning in order to be prepared for creating Shared Folders and shortcuts in the IUIE.
